European Artwork 2017-11-07T12:12:48+00:00

The buyers we deal with on a regular basis include many who collect European art from well known major artists dating primarily from the 19th and 20th centuries. We also have buyers specifically interested in “Old Master” artwork dating from the 16th through 18th centuries. Even though “Old Master” art sometimes poses a few difficulties, as far as the areas of authenticity, condition and provenance are concerned, this is certainly something we can help to ascertain to affect a successful sale for you. We have experts needed to do all the preliminary and technical assessments and examinations needed to determine if the piece you’re wanting to sell is something we can successfully broker on your behalf.

With few exceptions (such as first edition John James Audubon prints in excellent condition or silkscreens by major artists such as Andy Warhol), we don’t handle prints or lithographs. We broker only original paintings, watercolors and drawings by well-known artists.

However, major “old master” art sometimes poses a few difficulties in selling as far as the areas of authenticity, condition and provenance are concerned; though this is certainly something we can help you deal with. We have access to the experts needed to do all the preliminary assessment to determine if the piece you’re wanting to sell is something we can broker on your behalf.

As with all the artwork we broker, we only deal with signed, authenticated pieces. If your painting has not yet been authenticated and had a condition report recently by a recognized professional, you will eventually need to pay to have those things done. If you allow us to broker your item, we will help you obtain the proper written authentication using top experts whom we know and trust. Expert authentication and an accurate condition report are necessary steps in the professional brokering of fine art, and we take that process very seriously. It protects everyone involved.

When in doubt as to whether a piece is something we would be interested in brokering on your behalf, please feel free to contact us. If what you have isn’t something we have buyers for, we’ll suggest another outlet for you if we can. Keep in mind when calling or emailing, that the more detailed information and clear photographs we have to work with early on, the faster we can determine if our Brokerage Services are the appropriate venue for selling your item. We also provide a simple and easy to use Artwork Evaluation and Information Form to facilitate that process.

All images below, are merely representative examples of the quality and type of artwork we’re seeking on behalf of our buyers, or which we may have evaluated or brokered on behalf of our clients in the past.

We also have buyers specifically interested in “Old Master” artwork from Europe, dating from the 16th through 18th centuries. Quality “Old Master” art poses a few additional steps in selling as far as the areas of authenticity, condition and provenance are concerned, although this is certainly something we can help you deal with without problems. We have experts needed to do all the preliminary assessments needed to determine if the piece you’re wanting to sell is something we can successfully broker on your behalf. We will take into consideration the painting’s history (if known) condition, the artist, the subject matter and several other factors. Pictured below are just a few examples of paintings by well-known “Old Master” artists for which we would have buyers. I have also listed a few more names of popular “Old Master” artists as well. There are literally hundreds of very good, available artists that people own by inheritance or collecting which we are happy to evaluate for a private, discreet brokerage sale through our firm.
