| Jasper Francis Cropsey (1823-1900) |
![]() Jasper Cropsey became a nationally known luminist landscape painter whose work reflects his interest in architecture painting, seasons, etc. Often called "America's painter of autumn", he was especially known for his sunlit-ridden fall landscapes. Most of Cropsey's large landscape paintings have a very "luminist" style, which incorporate the lovely colors of sunsets and sunrises, and are often surrounded by lakes or colorful forest landscapes. |
